Working in partnership with The Chimney House and the Milestone we have set about to create a fresh identity for a food festival that will showcase the finest food brands from around the UK.

Taking inspiration from the idea behind an typographic art form called ambigrams.  Once rotated Field becomes Chef and Chef, Field. This reflects the symbiotic relationship between the two as the transformation of field produce into chef delights is celebrated.  We were really keen to put back the enchanted and strangely magic feeling/tastes/sensations – that we often take for granted in our food and drink – back into the core focus of the identity now and moving forward.

We deliberately didn’t want to be obvious with the logo, but instead take references to the imagery we’re trying to communicate.  We’ve illustrated the Yorkshire rose, the journeys and shapes of the stars and constellations, as well as featuring some of the creatures and beasts from the hedgerows and fields.  This brand is only in it’s first stages of implementation so as ever watch this space, and see you there in Summer 2011.
