What a line up! Groove Armada, Heaven 17, Arctic Monkeys, U2, and Kasabian!

When Tracey Welch approached 93ft to deliver her new portfolio website how could we refuse?  Working across a focused sector of industries Tracey also heads up a enviable collection of music photography with top UK and International music artists including Sheffield’s own Arctic Monkeys, to Ibizan giants of Electronic Dance music – Groove Armada.

Tracey had 2 goals she needed to achieve with her website.  Number 1, she needed a website that would let the photography do the talking, and in time allow her to sell her work via a PayPal e-commerce plug in.  Achieved.  Number 2, Tracey needed a website that she could content manage herself.  So we built her a website designed to be on demand, allowing her to go straight from the shoot to upload direct onto her website.  Achieved.

We have just completed a total re-skin web design for sports kit suppliers Kitlocker.com.  They approached 93ft to help them to refresh their existing online brand for which we delivered to them a full redesign of the website as well as ironing out any inconsistencies in their existing logo.

The front end development allows browsers to buy instantly on the front page, and helps guide the browser through a consistent series of streamlined pages working to reduce the number of page and clicks to complete the order.  A key part of the brief was for the Kitlocker web team to be able to update the styling and promotional banners both on the home and product pages.  We also created themed backdrops for the homepage which could be tailored to the seasons or customised to suit on-board brands.

The new e-commerce website for The Wild Star Food Co. is a bespoke Shopify development: hosted on dedicated Rackspace servers and accessed globally via the Akamai Content Delivery Network (CDN).

Along with the increased reliability and speed of the new site comes some major usability improvements. Users can now view much larger photographs and images of products, enabling them to see clearly the product they are going to buy. Products are displayed in a grid layout so that customers can quickly and easily get an overview of what is on offer. Customers can now narrow their view by product type, category or brand.

Wild Star now also benefits from the statistics, automation and inherent Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) available on their new platform. Every page view is now logged and analysed using Google Analytics, every product is now submitted automatically to Google Product Search and every price is shown on the new printable online price list for customer reference.

93ft are fresh from 20:20 Mobile where we had a bit of an exclusive preview of Apple’s new iPad – due out in the UK in May.

The verdict.  Wow, what an awesome product, it’s definitely another design icon from Apple and yes we’ll all be buying one!  So many uses from picture frame, web browser, album, Skype and instant messaging to Facebook and that’s just scratching the surface!  Oh and before you ask, yes all 93ft websites are compatible with the iPad (and the iPhone) so you can keep yourself updated and continue to view all our work in glorious rich colour!

The Bike Science e-commerce website is built upon the Pearl Online Accounting and CRM system; this allows the client to manage products, invoicing, contacts, accounts and reporting from a single system. 93ft developed a branded Pearl custom template for the e-commerce front-end. Special features of the template include: Promotional banner slideshow (jQuery), tabbed product viewing area (custom JavaScript) and the most recent blog posts are displayed using the Google AJAX API to access the RSS feed on the Bike Science blog. All of the special features were programmed using valid and semantic HTML and CSS alongside unobtrusive JavaScript to allow for maximum accessibility and compatibility.
